Through this study, Save the Children Hong Kong aims to understand how parents’ and caregivers’ communication and parenting skills, especially intangible pressure (like verbal harm and over-monitoring), affect the emotional and mental health of children and youth; allow young people to express their genuine thoughts, feelings, and experiences regarding their parents’ care and family pressures, and promote proactive interventions, de-stigmatise and culturally appropriate prevention work to build a better child protection safety net for children and parents.
