Children are facing more extreme weather in an increasingly unequal world. Climate-related heatwaves, droughts and flooding destroy crops, livestock, and livelihoods. Millions of families today can’t afford to feed their children or send them to school. Conflict, climate change and the cost-of-living crisis are making poverty worse worldwide – especially for children and their families who are forced to leave their homes.

Vietnam: Empowering Youth to Drive a Greener Future
In Quảng Trị Province, Vietnam, 13-year-old Băng has experienced these impacts as part of everyday life: sudden heatwaves, storms and flooding often interrupt daily routines and sometimes affect schooling and outdoor activities, while air pollution has also contributed to respiratory problems among many children.
China: Creating Career Pathways for Youth with Disabilities in Chengdu
The Inclusive Employment Project supports students with disabilities through a two-pronged approach. Through the Individualised Vocational Education Support Plan, students receive tailored vocational skills training at school. Through the Individualised Vocational Transition Support Plan, they access internship opportunities, complemented by job coach support — helping students move from learning to practice and prepare for future employment.
