APPOINTS NEW BOARD CHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN

Save the Children Hong Kong is pleased to announce the appointments of Farhan Faruqui and Brandon Lin as Chairman and Vice Chairman of its Board of Directors respectively, effective from October 2019.

The new Chairman and Vice Chairman bring a wealth of leadership experience, dedication, and commitment to Save the Children’s mission to do whatever it takes for the most vulnerable children in Hong Kong and around the world.

Farhan is Group Executive International for ANZ’s Institutional business in Asia, Europe and America. He joined ANZ as CEO of International Banking in August 2014 before being elevated to the position of Group Executive International, cementing the importance of Asia to the ANZ Group. Farhan is an experienced international banker, product specialist and an accomplished people leader across multiple geographies. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree – Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.

Farhan has joined the Board of Save the Children Hong Kong since November 2015. Speaking of the appointment, Farhan said, “I am truly honoured to be appointed as the Chairman of Save the Children Hong Kong. It is particularly meaningful as 2019 is the year of Save the Children’s 100th anniversary. I look forward to continuing to work closely with our entire Board of Directors and management to take the organisation to the next level, including continuing to increase our domestic programmes in Hong Kong to broaden our support for local children and families.”

Brandon is the Founder, President and Chief Investment Officer of SPQ Asia Capital and General Partner of the SAIF Partners Group which he joined in 2001 as part of the founding team. He has been at SAIF/SPQ in Hong Kong and Beijing for 15 years where he has a strong track record for sourcing, evaluating, executing, managing and exiting numerous profitable private equity and public investments. Brandon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree with Distinction from Stanford University in 1991 and Juris Doctorate cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1994.

Brandon has joined the Board of Save the Children Hong Kong since November 2015. Commenting on the appointment, Brandon said, “I am very pleased to be appointed as Vice Chairman at such an exciting time for the development of Save the Children Hong Kong. I look forward to continuing to contribute my expertise and experience to further strengthen our organisation and achieve our mission.”
