World Children’s Day 2024: Cheer for Students
Save the Children Hong Kong celebrates World Children’s Day again this year! Our founder, Eglantyne Jebb, was a key advocate in establishing this important day. In 1923, she drafted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, which was later adopted as the Convention on the Rights of the Child, recoginsing the basic rights of children. World Children’s Day was created to commemorate this important moment.
This year, we are celebrating under the theme of caring for the children’s mental health, motivating everyone to “Cheer for Students”. In this campaign, we encourage children to recognise their emotional needs and be self-compassionate. Besides, we also urge caretakers to prioritise children’s mental wellbeing by encouraging them to rest and relax when needed, as well as showing them love and support, which will empower children to face life challenges with confidence and resilience.

Sweeten Them Up with Free Ice Cream!
We understand that children are under a lot of stress nowadays. Therefore, we want to sweeten you up with free ice cream in Causeway Bay, Mongkok and Shatin from 20 to 22 November. Check out the details of the event below**:

Do You Know 4Rs Mental Health Charter?
The Education Bureau has recently launched the “4Rs Mental Health Charter,” encouraging schools across Hong Kong to participate in promoting and enhancing students’ mental health. The Charter emphasises 4 key elements:
- Rest
- Relax
- Relationships
- Resilience
