Save the Children’s vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation. This meaningful and noble cause deserves the wholehearted support of all,” said Mr Cheuk Wing-hing,

Mr. Donnie Yen echoed this sentiment, stating, “Every child should have equal opportunities. We must all contribute to bringing hope and positive change to children in need.” Singer-songwriter Jasmine Yen and visually-impaired vocalist Michelle Siu brought their incredible talent to the event with heartfelt songs. Celebrating 15 Years of Impact

As Save the Children Hong Kong marks its 15th anniversary, it reflects on a legacy of commitment to ensuring that children have a healthy start in life, an opportunity to learn, and protection from harm. In the last 15 years, Save the Children Hong Kong has supported 1.9 million people, including 1.1 million children, creating a brighter future for children in Hong Kong and around the world.

Address Urgent Needs in Hong Kong and Mainland China

The evening highlighted the urgent needs of children in Hong Kong and mainland China. In Hong Kong, the number of child abuse cases has surged by over 50% in the last three years. In response, Save the Children Hong Kong has implemented programmes that equip parents with positive parenting skills and empower children to protect themselves. The organisation also prioritises mental health support with programmes designed to enhance children’s social and emotional development through sports and arts.

In mainland China, Save the Children combats violence and neglect, especially among migrant and rural children. Every year, 10 million children experience violence or humiliation at home. Their initiatives include child-friendly centres and training for social workers to ensure children receive the support they need.

Ms. Carol Szeto, the CEO of Save the Children Hong Kong, emphasised, “At Save the Children, we are leveraging over a century of global experience to transform children’s lives. We are proud of our achievements over the last fifteen years, making a positive impact for and with children. As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to our mission of ensuring that every child can thrive, regardless of their circumstances.”
