HELP CHILDREN DEVASTATED BY THE CLIMATE EMERGENCY IN PAKISTAN
One-third of Pakistan is currently underwater due to the worst flooding in decades.
More than two months of storms have washed away entire villages, leaving children and families stranded. The continued heavy rains and landslides have already severely impacted more than 33 million people – almost 5 times the population of Hong Kong.
Families have lost everything and are in urgent need of shelter, clean water, food, hygiene supplies and medical care.
We are now in a race against time to prevent the loss of more lives. The risks of mass hunger and deadly waterborne diseases continue to rise daily, along with the unrelenting rains.
HOW ARE WE HELPING CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES IN PAKISTAN?
Save the Children first began working in Pakistan in 1979. We are already responding in one of the worst-affected provinces, Balochistan, and are deploying teams to other hardest-hit areas.
With your support, we will provide lifesaving assistance such as:
- Providing flood-affected families with essential shelter and household items
- Ensuring families can access essential healthcare and protection from water-borne and deadly communicable diseases
- Providing psychosocial support to children who have become separated from their families, traumatised, or faced increased violence triggered by the stressful situation
OUR CHILDREN’S EMERGENCY FUND
Your donations will be channelled to our Children’s Emergency Fund and used to empower children and their families devastated by crisis – like those in Pakistan – to stay safe, healthy and to rebuild their lives. Your donations will support children wherever the need is greatest.
