香港麥當勞叔叔之家慈善基金秉持「家庭為本」的理念，為病童及其家庭提供「家以外的家」的家舍服務，期盼在兒童的康復過程中的不安與不適，並加深孩子與父母之間的連繫，促進家庭團結。
香港首間麥當勞叔叔之家於1996年在沙田威爾斯親王醫院附近成立，為有需家庭提供家舍，讓病童在住院治療期間，家人仍可就近照顧，大大減輕他們沉重的負擔及壓力。因應香港兒童醫院投入服務，第二間家舍座落於鄰近醫院的觀塘，提供89間客房及康樂設施。每年將額外提供24,000晚住宿，以供病童及其家庭使用。截至2023年，他們已經為超過9,600名受惠兒童及家庭提供了超過226,000晚住宿。此外，他們亦提供「家FUN車」醫院探訪計劃、愛心伙伴計劃等，協助病童及其家庭積極面對治療和康復的過程。

Ronald McDonald House Charities Hong Kong upholds the concept of Family-Centred Care and provides “home away from home” accommodation services for children with critically ill or injured and their families. Its mission is to remove barriers and promote healing during the children’s recovery process, deepen the connection between children and parents, and promote family unity.
The first Ronald McDonald House in Hong Kong was established near the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin in 1996. It provides accommodation for families in need, allowing them to take care of the children nearby during their hospitalisation, greatly alleviating their financial burden and stress. In response to the service demand from the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, the second house is located in Kwun Tong near the hospital, providing 89 guest rooms and recreational facilities. They offer an additional 24,000 nights of accommodation each year for children in need and their families. As of 2023, they have provided over 226,000 nights of accommodation for more than 9,600 benefiting children and their families. In addition, they also provide programmes such as the Hospitality Cart Programme and the Love Companion Programme to assist children in need and their families to face the treatment and recovery process.
